Amanda Gorman. Ma’am, you were the moment! 🙌🏾🙏🏾 I wasn’t emotional until she started speaking. The beauty, eloquence, imagery, her words, her delivery, her poise, her outfit choice and it’s colors, her hair, her skin,....everything about her is a moment! 👊🏾
Yes to the representation of Kamala Harris, this is a monumental moment, but this one for me hits deeper. The fact that she came out the way that she did, and the fact that she was the youngest poet to give an inauguration poem, the fact that she, as a Black Woman, wasn’t invited to be entertainment, but she was invited to SPEAK! To share her words, her opinions, her mind, her spirit, her emotion, HER VOICE! She as a human was invited to share and participate, not just to entertain. This for me is significant because as much as representation is important, so is the right representation. @amandascgorman just changed the game by showing America who the real players are and that the standard of excellence is more accessible than they like to believe.
